IPL6: Miller powers Punjab to win over Bangalore

Kings XI Punjab powered by a spectacular unbeaten century by David Miller (101) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets with two overs to spare in Match 51 of IPL6 at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali in Chandigarh on Monday night.

Chasing a daunting target of 191, Punjab were down in the dumps at 64-4 after 10 overs.

Punjab were stuttering at 85-4 after 13 overs when Miller raised the roof of the stadium witha blistering assault on RP Singh smashing 26 off an RP Singh over.

In fact 99 runs came off the last five overs as Punjab raced to victory.

Sathish remained unbeaten on 27 off 18 balls with their unfinished partnership for the fifth wicket of 130 coming off just 49 balls.

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore spurred by half centuries from Chris Gayle (51) and Cheteshwar Pujara (61) made a formidable 190 for three after being put into bat by Kings XI Punjab.

Gayle smashed six boundaries and three sixes in his 33-ball 61 during an opening stand of 102 with Pujara.

Pujara completed his maiden T20 fifty cracking eight boundaries in his knock.

Gony dismissed both openers castling them putting a brake on the Bangalore charge claiming two for 41.

Kohli strugged to make a run a ball 14 before holing out to Marsh.

However, AB de Villiers and Moises Henriques figured in a stand of 46 from 19 balls as their innings finished with a flourish as the last three overs yielded 45 runs.

Miller completes his half century off just 24 balls smashes a couple of sixes off RP Singh.

Miller is on fire smashing two boundaries and a six off Vinay Kumar and is dropped by Kohli. KXIP 112-4 in 14 overs.

Miller lofts Karthik straight over his head for a six. KXIP 90-4 in 12 overs.

Neser goes for 21 in the final over with AB de Villiers cracking a couple of boundaries and an amazing six over extra cover while Henrique almost hit a six off the last ball.

Henriques smashes a six and a boundary as Bangalore get some bonus runs. RCB 169-3 in 19 overs.

AB de Villiers swats Neser for a flat six and gets a boundary off a thick edge behind the keeper. RCB 157-3 in 18 overs.

Boundaries are suddenly drying up for the rampant Bangalore pair with Chawla bowling a good over. RCB 77-0 in 9 overs.

Awana bowls a good over comparatively not conceding a boundary. RCB 73-0 in 8 overs.

Gayle punches Chawla through the covers for another boundary as he moves to 40. RCB 67-0 in 7 overs.

Gayle is on 35 with four boundaries and two sixes while Pujara has made 22 off 19 balals with four boundaries as RCB make a solid start in the Powerplay overs.

Pujara strokes three consecutive boundaries while Gayle hits another boundary off Gony as Bangalore rattle up 58 for no loss in 6 overs.

Gayle hits another boundary pulling a bouncer from Gony to midwicket. RCB 23-0 in 4 overs.

Gayle hits the first boundary off Awana. RCB 11-0 in 2 overs.

Kumar concedes just three runs in the opening over.

Neser's first over goes fo 18 with Pujara cracking a boundary and Gayle blasting two consecutive sixes. RCB 41-0 in 5 overs.
