IPL6: Mumbai seal sensational win over Chennai

Mumbai Indians completed a remarkable comeback to thrash Chennai Super Kings by 60 runs in Match 49 of IPL6 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.

Mumbai who are locked in a mid-table tussle to qualify for the play-offs surged to third from fifth after their extraordinary triumph.

Chasing a relatively small target of 140, Chennai crashed to their lowest IPL total of 79 in 15.2 overs.

Only three Chennai batsmen managed to enter double figures as Mumbai won with nearly four overs to spare.

JOhnson caused the early damage taking three wickets in the third over to finish with three for 27.

Ojha struck crucial blows including Hussey and Dhoni to claim three for 11.

Malinga mopped up the tail picking up two for six.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians opting to bat first recovered after a slow start to make 139-5.

They were down for the count at 82-5 after 15 overs with Jadeja having taken three for 29.

Smith (22), Tendulkar (15) and Karthik (23) never really got going.

Their innings flourished in the final overs thanks to an entertaining 57-run stand in just 29 balls between skipper Rohit Sharma and Harbhajan for the unbroken sixth wicket.

Rohit made a gritty unbeten 39 off 30 balls with three boundaries and a six.

Harbhajan blasted two sixes and two boundaries in his 11-ball 25.

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS INNINGS

Jadeja is the last man out trying to hit Ojha out of the ground but only holing out to Rayudu to be all out for 79 in 15.2 overs.

Laughlin goes for 19 in the last over with Rohit hitting a boundary while Harbhajan smashed a six and a boundary to lift Mumbai to 139-5 in 20 overs.

CSK have already sealed their berth in the IPL 2013 play-offs.

MI are placed fifth in the standings having won six of their ten matches this season.

They are locked in a mid-table race with several other teams.

CSK are on a roll having equalled the IPL record for the most consecutive wins having won their last seven matches.

They will be looking for revenge having lost a low-scoring match against MI by nine runs earlier this season.
