Sangakkara century pushes Lanka 426 ahead
Kumar Sangakkara's 108 put Sri Lanka in complete control of the second test against South Africa Wednesday, giving the tourists a 426-run lead with two days still to play.
Left-hander Sangakkara had a valuable return to form with his first score this series to propel Sri Lanka to 256-7 in its second innings when bad light stopped play on the third day at Kingsmead.
Sri Lanka ensured South Africa would have to make a world-record winning score in the fourth innings, or attempt to bat for a draw, to deny the tourists their first test victory in the country.
Sangakkara's fluent innings included 13 fours and the top-ranked test batsman shared a 94-run partnership with Thilan Samaraweera (43) and a century stand with Dinesh Chandimal, who made 54.
