Tendulkar 200th Test India v West Indies: It's advantage India on Day 1

Sachin Tendulkar looks all set to make his final Test appearance a memorable one as he remained unbeaten on 38 at the end of Day One to take India to a fine 157 for two in 34 overs in reply to West Indies 182 in the first innings, trailing by 25 runs.

It was the spin duo Pragyan Ojha and Ravichandran Ashwin who bowled brilliantly earlier in the day to ensure India were able to bat today.
Ojha claimed five wickets while Ashwin took three to ensure West Indies were shot out for 182 in 55.2 overs.

After put in to bat, West Indies had made a positive start despite losing Chris Gayle early. Kieran Powell (48), Darren Bravo (29) and Shivnarine Chanderpaul (25) were all looking strong but failed to convert their good starts to big scores.

EVENING SESSION

India trail by 26. With just one over to go, we can see more of our Little Master's shots on Day 2. Ind 156-2 n 33 overs.

Partnership between Tendulkar and Pujara reaches 49. Ind 126-2 in 24 overs.

Tendulkar's every shot is cheered. He is taking his time to settle in as he gets two fine boundaries off a square cut. Ind 99-2 in 18 overs.

India lose their second wicket quickly but the crowd is cheering! As Vijay walks back, Sachin Tendulkar makes an entry. Guard of honour given to him. A wonderful gesture from everyone in the middle. Ind 77-2 in 13.4 overs.

West Indies taste success but Dhawan has to blame himself as his sweep goes horribly wrong. Ind 77-1 in 13.2 overs.

S Dhawan c Chanderpaul b Shillingford 33 (28b 7x4 0x6)

India reach 50. 11 boundaries from both the batsmen already shows how good they are timing it. Ind 52-0 in 10 overs.

Runs coming in quite easily and in boundaries for India at the moment. Windies sloppy fielding adding to it. WI 37-0 in 6 overs.

Sammy taking the new ball somehow is not working for West Indies. Two lovely boundaries from Dhawan. Ind 17-0 in 3 overs.

WEST INDIES INNINGS

Pragyan Ojha claimed five wickets while Ravichandran Ashwin took three as West Indies collapsed to 182 in 55.2 oversin the first innings of the second Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

After put in to bat, West Indies made a good start despite losing Chris Gayle early. Kieran Powell (48), Darren Bravo (29) and Shivnarine Chanderpaul (25) were going strong early in the day but after lunch it was India's spinners who had the final laugh.

That's five wickets Ohja. What a collapse for Windies. Spectators are cheering, they know every wicket falling is getting closer to watching Tendulkar. WI 182 for 10 in 55.2 overs.

Tino Best walks back without a score. Now its getting too predictable. Ohja picks his fourth. WI 172-9 in 51.2 overs.

T Best c Dhoni b Ojha 0 (2b 0x4 0x6)

Lot of things happening in the middle. Ball turns so sharp it beats the batsman and the keeper for a boundary and the next ball a sharp edge is dropped by Vijay. Ashwin is furious. WI 172-8 in 51 overs.

It's a collapse here as the West Indies batsmen are hardly spending time in the middle. That's the third for Ohja. WI 162-8 in 50 overs.

That's another and it's a very irresponsible shot from the West Indies skipper Sammy. Ashwin takes his third. India on top at the moment. WI 162-7 in 49 overs.

D Sammy c Sharma b Ashwin 0 (2b 0x4 0x6)

This time it's Ashwin's turn to celebrate. A briliant diving catch from Murali Vijay. West Indies are collapsing here. WI 162-6 in 48.4 overs.

N Deonarine c Vijay b Ashwin 21 (24b 1x4 1x6)

That's a beauty from Kumar and Windies trusted batsman Chanderpaul is gone. WI 148-5 in 43.5 overs.

S Chanderpaul c Ashwin b Kumar 25 (34b 2x4 1x6)

Ojha gets his second to remove Samuels. He is bowling beautifully giving a lot of flight. WI 140-4 in 40.4 overs.

M Samuels c Vijay b Ojha 19 (59b 3x4 0x6)

This Test is a special one for Chanderpaul playing his 150th Test. He would want to do something big here. WI 139-3 in 40 overs

Shami continues to bowl impressively as Ojha giving him good support. Samuel is taking time to settle down but his odd boundaries are impressive to watch. WI 125-3 in 36 overs.

India taste success immediately after lunch. Well-settled Powell is unlucky to be out on 48. WI 97-3 in 30.1 overs.

K Powell c Dhawan b Ojha 48 (80b 4x4 1x6)

West Indies reached 93 for 2 in 28 overs during the first session with Kieran Powell batting on 45.

India after putting West Indies to bat first got Chris Gayle early with Shami providing the breakthrough but Powell and Bravo put on a fine half century partnership to put Windies in a good position.

Ravichandran Ashwin claimed the second wicket of Darren Bravo.

MORNING SESSION

India strike when It looked like Windies were settling down. Ashwin bowls a beauty as Bravo edges to Dhoni. WI 86-2 in 24.4 overs.

D Bravo c Dhoni b Ashwin 29 (63b 5x4 1x6)

Powell on 37 while Bravo is on 29. A fine partnership building up for West Indies as it crosses 50. WI 84-1 in 23 overs.

Bravo suddenly looks to have got into the aggressive mood. Ashwin is hammered for a six and a boundary. WI 60-1 in 19 overs.

There was a chance. Ashwin messes it up in the slips. Bhuvneshwar Kumar not impressed. WI 49-1 in 18 overs.

Drinks. Just the one wicket so far in the early morning conditions. WI 45-1 in 14 overs.

West Indies cautiously going ahead. Shami has been threatening bowling with a lot of purpose. WI 36-1 in 10 overs.

Gayle fails again and is walking back offering an easy catch to Rohit at gully. Shami continues from where he left in the first Test.

It's a steady start of the Windies. Gayle is looking patient. WI 23-0 in 5 overs.

India win toss and put Windies to bat. So the Indian fans will have to wait for some time to see Sachin bat.

Here we are the big day has arrived. It's been just Tendulkar and Tendulkar everywhere and everytime.

It certainly is going to be an emotional time. Spectators can't wait to see the Little Master enter the ground for the one last time.
