Al Ahli lift President's Cup for eighth time

Al Ahli Club defeated Al Shabab 4-3 to win the President's Cup in a thriller at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

The Dubai club equalled Sharjah's record of eight wins with this triumph.

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, handed the Championship trophy and gold medals to Al Ahli players and silver medals to the runners up Al Shabab.

The match was also attended by  Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Chairman of Al Shabab Club, Yousif Al Sarkal, Chairman of the UAE Football Association, and other dignitaries.

Al Ahli's goals came from Adnan Hussain, Brazilian Grafite, Chilean Luis Jimenez and an own goal from Brazilian Edgar Bruno Da Silva.

Al Shabab's goals were scored by Edgar Bruno Da Silva and Jocicel Da Silva.
