Arsene Wenger has warned his Arsenal players to avoid becoming complacent.

Wenger could spend a chunk of Arsenal’s £50million transfer fund on Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Mario Goetze.

The Gunners manager dispatched the club’s chief scout Steve Rowley to watch the 19-year-old in Dortmund’s Champions League win over Olympiakos in Germany on Tuesday night.

You never know when the next storm will come. I believe we are in a position where the last thing that should creep in is complacency. We have come so far from difficult times.

Asked if Arsenal are back in the title race, Wenger said: "It is too early to say that.

"If we win a few more games, why not? At the moment I do not think we are far enough to say that.
