Arsenal’s Walcott to replace Man Utd’s Nani

The writing is on the wall. Theo Walcott should know that. Arsene Wenger will not pay up.

He did not for Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri or Robin Van Persie.

And Walcott is certainly not in that class.

Not yet at least.

The warnings have also been issued now.

Wenger leading the way in calling for Theo to sort his contract out.

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has also warned Theo Walcott that his future at Arsenal and his game is in danger.

“Everyone wants to see Theo Walcott sign a new contract,’ Parlour was quoted as saying by talkSPORT.

“He’s got a lot of work to do on the pitch though and, at the moment, he’s not playing.

“All these contract talks can sometimes affect your game. He’s probably thinking more about money and less about his game.”

The 23-year-old England winger's deal at the Emirates expires at the end of the season and Walcott has been linked with a move to both Chelsea and Liverpool.

However, there is a third club with a certain Nani predicament.

The Manchester United winger remains a mystery wrapped in an enigma for Sir Alex Ferguson and looks sadder than Cristiano Ronaldo when playing.

In United’s last game against Wigan Nani showed the problem he presents Fergie.

He gave Fergie five reasons to bench, dump and sell him – wasteful shots on goal; lax defending; reluctance to pass; sloppy passing when he did; terrible corners.

However, he gave Fergie only one reason to keep him.

A delightful, trademark jink past a defender from a hopeless situation that set up the first goal for United and opened the flood-gates.

It is the weight of that move that tilts the tide in favour of Nani.

Unless, of course, someone with equal credentials, at least in terms of potential if not proven skill is unearthed.

Nobody uses wingers better or with more focus than Manchester United.

Perhaps a link up with Robin Van Persie is what Theo Walcott will best benefit from.

Perhaps Walcott is Fergie’s answer to the Nani dilemma.

Unless Walcott wants to spend his Arsenal days coming on in the 90th minute for Lukas Podolski?
