European champions Barcelona beat Real Madrid 4-3 in a thrilling exhibition match at Dubai at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday night.

The match was a preview to the first ever Dubai International Indoor Football Championship, a three day five-a-side round robin tournament with Dh100,000 prize money.

With just two minutes left on the clock, and the team tied at 3-3, Albert Thomas scored the winner for Barcelona for a last-gasp victory over their arch rivals.

But celebrations were slightly muted as Barca goalkeeper Estone Moner was taken to hospital with a shoulder injury and may miss the rest of the competition.

Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre in partnership with Dubai Sports Council, the competition includes the two Spanish giants, Al Wasl Club, Sharjah, UAE Stars and a guest Palestine Stars team. Matches take place from 9.30pm to 12:30am in Sheikh Rashid Hall.

Tickets cost Dh100 for a full tournament pass to all matches and Dh200 for VIP seating. Tickets are available from Time Out Tickets.
