Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy featured in the Wales squad named by new manager Chris Coleman on Monday for next week's international friendly with Costa Rica.

The fixture is being held in honour of Gary Speed, the late Wales coach who died in November.

Speed had persuaded Bellamy to prolong his international career but next week's game, in which he will be earning his 68th cap, could be his last for his country.

The squad, picked by Coleman and Speed's assistants, Osian Roberts and Raymond Verheijen, is, as expected, drawn from the group who helped Wales win four of their last five games under Speed.

Next Wednesday's fixture is against the side that former midfielder Speed won his first Wales cap.
