Chelsea are considering a loan bid from Fulham for Belgian starlet Romelu Lukaku.

Fulham boss Martin Jol is in talks with his west London neighbours after seemingly missing out on Liverpool's Andy Carroll, who is wanted by hometown club Newcastle, according to the Daily Mirror.

Lukaku cost the Blues £18 million last summer, but has grown disillusioned because of a lack of first-team opportunities.

The European Cup holders have previously maintained that the 19-year-old Belgian who has been likened to Didier Drogba would not be leaving and that he would be part of their plans for the coming season.

But it is understood that Chelsea would not be averse to Lukaku moving to Craven Cottage, where he would link up with countryman Moussa Dembele, the report added.
