Chelsea are ready for a sensational £60 million double swoop of Napoli hitman Edinson Cavani and Brazilian playmaker Oscar, according to The Sun.

The Blues are ready to pay £35m for Uruguayan star Cavani, who is earmarked to replace Didier Drogba.

With owner Roman Abramovich is sparing no expense to defend the club’s Champions League title, he has also sanctioned a Brazilian £25m deal for Internacional’s Oscar.

Napoli were demanding in excess of £50m for Cavani, who has scored 66 goals in his two seasons in Naples.

But they are now ready to start talks at a more realistic price.

It was reported earlier that Chelsea have agreed a Brazilian record £25 million deal to sign Internacional star Oscar.

The European champions have been chasing the Brazil midfielder for several months.

Tottenham and Inter Milan had also been strongly linked to the 20-year-old regarded as one of the best young talents in Brazil.

Chelsea had a previous £20m bid for Oscar turned down, but have now succeeded with an improved offer, according to Sky Sports News.

Internacional claimed at the weekend that they had fielded an approach from Chelsea.

"I want the transfer of Oscar to be the biggest deal ever in Brazilian football," Internacional president Giovanni Luigi told Radio Gaucha. "And the Chelsea offer isn't that far from that."

Oscar, who has made six senior appearances for his country, is set to showcase his skills in London after being named in Brazil's Olympic squad.

A transfer could now be finalised, despite the playmaker's agent having previously claimed a move to Stamford Bridge was looking increasingly uncertain.

The Brazilian club insist that Oscar's potential move to Chelsea must be the biggest in the country's history.
