Chelsea's summer spending to top £100 million

Chelsea supremo Roman Abramovich is ready hike his summer spending to the £100 million mark with a shock £20m bid for Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini, according to the Mirror.

The European champions have already spent big in recent weeks by signing Lille's Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard for £32m and Germany midfielder Marko Marin from Werder Bremen for £8m.

They are also closing in on Porto's Brazil international forward Hulk in a £38m deal.

But the Blues are also want a midfield enforcer and Fellaini tops their list of candidates, the report added.

Everton defender Phil Jagielka admitted at the weekend that they would struggle to keep Fellaini.

But having to sell the Belgian could be devastating for Everton, who are also in danger of losing left-back Leighton Baines to Manchester United for £15m and have seen Tim Cahill linked with a move to the Middle East.
