Chelsea set for Fab new manager in Capello

Fabio Capello is ready to make a shock return to England to manage a Premier League club.
The Italian quit as the England boss six-and-a-half weeks ago and his apparent willingness to return will alert Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to the possibility of hiring him as a medium-term replacement for recently sacked Andre Villas-Boas, according to the Daily Mail.
Abramovich, looking to rebuild at Stamford Bridge after a season of frustration as the Villas-Boas project imploded, could be tempted to tap into the Italian’s experience.
Chelsea captain John Terry could sway the Blues management to go for the Italian who supported him when the defender was stripped of the England captaincy against the manager’s wishes.
But Abramovich is also known to be keen on giving the manager’s job to former Manchester United and France World Cup star Laurent Blanc, while he could face competition from Tottenham and Liverpool if he opts for Capello.
With Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp most likely to become the next England manager and Kenny Dalglish facing growing unrest over his leadership at Anfield, there is another possible destination for the high profile Italian.
Capello has won league titles in Italy and Spain, and claimed the Champions League in 1994 with AC Milan. And he wants to steer one more club towards glory before he
calls time on his career.
Although Abramovich had been looking at a younger manager to take over once Roberto Di Matteo’s caretaker role ends this summer, Capello who will be turning 66 in three months time is now seen as a serious contender for the job.
