Chelsea are tracking Malaga striker Jose Salomon Rondon as a replacement for Didier Drogba, according to reports.

Blues scouts watched Rondon play for Venezuela against Chile at the weekend.

The 22-year-old, who scored 11 goals in 37 La Liga games last season, is valued at £20 million.

Arsenal and Newcastle have also shown interest in the imposing Venezuela star, but have been put off by a £20 million asking price.

Rondon has scored 25 goals in two seasons since joining Malaga and was watched by Chelsea scouts when playing for his country on Sunday, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.

But his performance at the weekend did little to boost his prospects of a move, as Venenzuela slumped to a 2-0 home defeat by Chile.

Chelsea are still chasing Porto striker Hulk after swooping on Belgian starlet Eden Hazard and Marko Marin.
