Tottenham Hotspur advanced into the FA Cup quarter-finals with a 3-1 win at home to Stevenage on Wednesday but victory came at a cost as defender Michael Dawson was carried off on a stretcher.
"Michael Dawson looks like he's got a really bad injury, which is a real blow for Michael," Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp told ESPN after his eight-times FA Cup winners booked a sixth round draw at home to Premier League strugglers Bolton Wanderers.
"It's long term for sure."
Aaron Lennon was also forced off in the first half and Redknapp revealed he had suffered a hamstring injury.
"Every time he plays he seems to do his hamstring," Redknapp added.
League One Stevenage, who held Spurs, third in the Premier League, to a goalless draw in the original tie, stunned home fans at White Hart Lane by taking a fourth minute lead through Joel Byrom's penalty after he was brought down by New Zealand's Ryan Nelson.
But England striker Jermain Defoe drew Spurs level in the 26th minute when he latched onto Gareth Bale's through ball.
And 10 minutes after half-time Spurs forward Emmanuel Adebayor made it 2-1 with a penalty following a foul on Bale.
Then, with 15 minutes left, Wales star Bale's quick throw found Defoe whose low strike put the result beyond doubt.
"It was a difficult game, just what I expected," Redknapp said. "People said 'you'll smash them, beat them five or six'. Not a chance. It was a difficult game, but we came through okay in the end.
"The lads showed good character to come back from 1-0 down."
