Dubai Pro-League side Al Ahli have approached defender Lucio in a bid to prise him away from Inter, according to Sky Sport24.

The Brazil captain only has one more year to run on his contract with Inter and has been in talks with the Serie A giants to extend his stay at the club until 2014.

The uncertainty surrounding Lucio’s future has alerted several clubs, and it is now reported that Al Ahli have entered the race to sign the 33-year-old stopper.

The UAE club, whose technical advisor is former Italy international Fabio Cannavaro, have been after Brazilian talent of late, and already boast Pinga, Grafite and Jaja Coelho in their squad.

The prospect of a lucrative deal could be enough to entice Lucio, who joined Inter in 2009 after five years with Bayern Munich.
