Samir Nasri was once beloved at the Emirates stadium, a favourite of Arsenal fans.

Then, he claims, he saw the writing on the wall (which many at the North London club now claim to see as well) before most, upped and left for Manchester City (for £24million).
Ever since, Nasri has not hesitated in taking big digs at his former club.

He took aim at his old club again today by stating:

He added: "I don't want Arsenal to fall down. I wanted for them to win the FA Cup or something because I have a lot of respect for the players there and the manager.
"But I know, since I started, I made the right choice. We (City) are top of the league, we are still in the Europa League.

"I never asked Manchester City to pay £24m. It was a lot of money but every transfer now has a lot of money,” he was quoted as saying.

Nasri says he is determined to prove he is not a big-money flop.

Nasri, 24, has struggled to replicate the form he displayed for Arsenal since joining Manchester City last August.

The midfielder has completed the full 90 minutes just nine times for City but believes he has finally turned the corner.

"At Arsenal I was playing a little bit higher with three strikers and three midfielders. Here we play 4-4-2 so you have to work more defensively.

"But that doesn't matter. I have understood that and I want to show everyone that my move wasn't a mistake."
