Iraq coach Zico says he is resigning as coach of the national football team because of a contract breach.
In a statement posted on his official website, Zico says his decision came as a result of the failure of the Iraqi football association to live up to its commitments the former Brazil great's contract.
Officials in the IFA declined to comment Wednesday.
Last month, Zico said he was owed four months of pay by the IFA, adding that he is disappointed by the lack of consideration for his work.
Zico took over as coach of the team in August 2011.
