Harry the hero is fast becoming Harry the zero as Spurs slide towards the Champions League trap door.

Newcastle are circling, Chelsea are circling and even if Spurs finish fourth, Chelsea might still keep them out by winning the Champions League.

That would make they automatically qualify and only four English teams can go next year.

Then, factor in Harry Redknapp might be the first out of White Hart Lane with the England job up – and that might spark the exodus.

Redknapp has stunned Tottenham fans by admitting Luka Modric could leave the club this summer.

Now, while he insists Gareth Bale is going nowhere, Bale himself has stunned Tottenham by saying he could quit if they fail to get into the Champions League.

“If we don’t qualify, we’ll see what is best for myself. We have to wait and see what happens,” he said.

The winger is under contract at White Hart Lane until 2015.

He played down reports linking him with a summer move to Barcelona.

Once Bale puts himself on the market though everyone from Manchester to Stamford Bridge will be on alert.

Preferring to stay in the Premier League Bale might have to pick an English club.

There is one that Spurs fans will fear the most  - Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger is showing a ruthless streak in his management and transfer activity which means he could well look at Bale as an option.

It’s not something a Spurs fan would even want to contemplate.
