Manchester United may have a secret weapon back in its arsenal for its showdown with Liverpool. Nemanja Vidic could be back.
The United captain has not played since injuring a calf muscle in the first Premier League game of the season on August 14.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has allowed him to his national Serbia squad for their Euro 2012 ties, at home to Italy on Friday and away to Slovenia next Tuesday.
That suggests that Vidic is fit and will be ready to play by the time United head to the Kop on October 15.
With Phil Jones, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra, Vidic complete the most fearsome backfour in the Premier League.
And that’s not counting Chris Smalling yet.
