Nasri, Ribery sit out France training

France midfielders Samir Nasri and Franck Ribery both sat out training on Wednesday, as Laurent Blanc's side began preparations for their Euro 2012 quarterfinal with Spain.

Nasri injured his knee during the 2-0 loss to Sweden in Kiev on Tuesday and did not appear for training at France's Kircha training base south-west of Donetsk.

Ribery emerged with the rest of the squad but after completing a lap of the complex with his team-mates, he returned to the team hotel, apparently complaining of a problem with his left foot.

Early reports suggested he had sustained a blister, which is unlikely to compromise his chances of playing against Spain.

France face Spain at Kiev's Olympic Stadium on Saturday, when they will be bidding to reach the semifinals of a major tournament for the first time since their runners-up finish at the 2006 World Cup.
