Sergio Aguero's likely departure to Real Madrid could trigger a ripple effect in the Premier League involving champions Manchester City and Arsenal.

The La Liga champions are set to test City's resolve by making a staggering £50 milion bid for Aguero, according to the Daily Mail.

Aguero netted a stoppage time goal against QPR last weekend to seal City’s first title for 44 years.

Real boss Jose Mourinho now wants to bring him to the Bernabeu.

City signed Aguero for £35 million a year ago from Atletico Madrid who had resisted earlier attempts by Real for the Argentinian.

Roberto Mancini will do everything within his power to retain Aguero as he aims to build on their league triumph.

But Aguero's exit could have a domino effect with City making a bid for Arsenal captain Robin van Persie who has yet to commit his future at Emirates.

Mancini also has AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Their arrival at Etihad would help offset the loss of Aguero if Real are successful with their mega-bid.
