Harry Redknapp may be out of a job now. He may have also missed out on coaching England.

But, ‘ol’ ’Arry could well be the one who takes up one of the most coveted managerial positions in world football – Manchester United.

For some time now, speculation has been rife over who will take over the reins from Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.

From Pep Guardiola to Jose Mourinho, names have bandied about.

The question about when Sir Alex will go also hangs in the air, but after last season the talk about a new guard at United has grown louder.

Sir Alex may well look at the likes of Redknapp has his successor given that the recently-sacked Tottenham manager has the experience and the knowledge of the game from the grassroots level up to the highest form of the game.

Rekdnapp’s Tottenham revolution will also have not gone unnoticed and his style of coaching and play seems to have a United tinge in terms of attacking flair.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun on Friday, Redknapp showed the kind of poise needed to manage a club like United.

He said: “I won’t slit my throat over it. I want to get on with my life instead of moping about getting the sack.

“I loved every minute of my time at Spurs and I’ve no regrets whatsoever.

"I don’t feel bitter, nor regretful, there’s no confusion or anger.”
