UAE begin training for Beach Football World Cup

The UAE Beach Football team has launched preparations for the Asian qualifiers of the World Cup, the finals of which will be held in Italy this year.
The team has begun training daily at Al Mamzar beach buoyed by their gold medal at the Asian Games last year.
The Beach Football Development Committee of Dubai Sports Council (DSC) has set a preparatory plan for the national team including an internal camp.
The team will depart for Oman five days before the start of the World Cup qualifying to be held from February 26 to March 4.
Team officials revealed that five new players have been added to UAE National team based on their performance in local competitions such as Residential Districts Competition (Furjan) organised by DSC and other competitions. The new players are Walid Mohammed, Abdul Aziz Al Qadri, Ibrahim Hussain, Ahmed Ibrahim and Hussain Khurshidi.  
UAE coach Marcelo confirmed that his players are capable enough of qualifying for the upcoming World Cup finals.
“All players along with the new players are involved in the training sessions. The selection of new players has created an atmosphere of competition,” he said.
The UAE Beach Soccer national team has a unique record in Beach Football World Cup Qualifying gaining first place in the 2007 and 2008 competitions.
