Neil Warnock finally recorded his first victory as Leeds manager as his side cruised to a 2-0 win over 10-man Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Sunday.

Former QPR boss Warnock had failed to win any of his first three matches since replacing Simon Grayson at the Championship club, but goals from Robert Snodgrass and Luciano Becchio ensured that drought was ended in emphatic fashion.

Snodgrass got the first Leeds goal of Warnock's reign as he drilled his shot  past a weak attempted save from Jason Steele in the 18th minute.

Becchio increased the visitors' advantage just nine minutes later following a mistake by Justin Hoyte, whose poor attempted clearance allowed Ross McCormack to set up the Argentine forward.

Barry Robson's late dismissal after a clash with Adam Clayton added insult to injury for promotion-chasing Middlesbrough.

Warnock's side remain in 10th place but are now within four points of the play-off places, while Middlesbrough are fourth, seven points behind second placed West Ham.
