Arsene Wenger is likely to lure back the New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry when the next transfer season kicks off in less than two months.

It is alleged that the Gunners are planning to hold talks about their top target Mario Goetze with Borussia Dortmund, according to 'The Sun'.

Henry, Arsenal's record scorer with 226 goals in 380 games, is training with his former club to keep fit in the Major League Soccer close season.

Wenger said: "In football you rule very few things out. But it depends if we have injuries until January. At the moment we have a big enough squad to cope." (https://bit.ly/uRgOwX)

However, Wenger added: "Thierry can offer confidence, experience and advice to the strikers who are already here. Thierry loves football, Thierry loves Arsenal." (https://bit.ly/uRgOwX)

The Arsenal boss is more than pleased with 34-year-old Henry's sharpness in training and his form in guiding his side to the MLS play-off semi-finals.
