Rohan Mustafa hogged the limelight again for Danube Lions as they clinched the 40th Bukhatir League 'A' Division Tournament in association with Interface Transworld defeating Grand Midwest by 116 runs in the final.

The tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, saw some thrilling matches played over a month at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium under lights.

The event received a further boost when Interface Transworld, who have been big supporters of cricket in the UAE, came on board.

Danube Lions rattled up 288 for eight in 50 overs helped by half centuries from Mustafa (74) and Andri Berrenger (86).

Mustafa's knock was studded with five boundaries and a six, while Berrenger smashed eight boundaries and two sixes.

Chasing the imposing target, Grand Midwest were skittled for 172 in 36.4 overs.

Taufeeq Umer made a 57-ball 42 while Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal scored a measured 33.

But a fine spell from Mustafa who claimed three wickets triggered a collaspe.

Waleed Bukhatir, Vice-Chairman of the Sharjah Cricket Council, congratulated the winners and presented the trophies after the match.
