The Organising Committee of 'Dubai Tour 2014' has further intensified its promotional campaign for staging the cycle race with chairman Saeed Hareb taking the winner’s trophy atop the Burj Al Arab.

The organising committee of the cycling tour has been pushing forward to ensure successful organization of this major international sports event to be hosted by Dubai Sports Council from February 5 to 8.

The Dubai Tour is being held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of DSC.

Though the 'Dubai Tour' is in its first year, it has already been classified as one of the top sporting events on the Asian continent.

RTA, one of the supporting parties for the event, has backed the promotional campaign by installing nearly flags and banners along some of the main roads in Al Garhoud and Business Bay.

In addition, another 20 passenger buses have been fully decorated with the Dubai Tour slogans in Arabic and English.

The RTA has also displayed huge advertisements about the Tour at some of the main landmarks and tunnels.

Property developer Nakheel has also pitched in with the promotional campaign with a 'Dubai Tour' flag decorating the arch in the middle of The Palm Island along with a “Nakheel Welcomes Dubai Tour” in Arabic and English.

The committee also conducted field visits to Al Maktoum and Al Shafei Schools in the Al Safa Park area where members met up with students to explain the importance of cycling while popularising the Tour.

The students were briefed about the vital tourism role that 'Dubai Tour' would play in promoting the UAE in showing the entire world the prosperous development and splendid tourist landmarks in the country.

Further visits have been planned over the next few days at other schools and hotels to further popularise the Tour.

Members of the committee also visited hotels in Dubai that fall along the routes of the Dubai Tour so that tourists and visitors can join in cheering the cyclists when they pass.

The various Working Committees will convene more regularly and also conduct visits to several corporations and supporting entities to complete all organisational details before the launch of the event.
