Kerala Cricket League receives 4-star ranking by Dubai Sports Council

The fourth edition of the ongoing Kerala Cricket League (KCL) got a fillip with Dubai Sports Council honouring it with a 4-Star rating as per the new Sports Events Ranking System.
 
The only community cricket league event to be ranked in the list, KCL notched up a score of 75.11 across the five key measurement categories covering event, economic, sport, social and branding development.

KCL scored an exceptional high score in sport development with 13.70 points out of 15.

orded a perfect 10 out of 10 in the sports performance and excellence category.
 
Vinod G Pillai, Director of KCL, said: “This is fantastic news for us, especially as we have raised the benchmark this year with the largest-to-date celebration of community cricket this year.
 
“Through KCL, we are reiterating our focus on complementing Dubai Sports Council’s strategy to raise the overall profile of sports organised in Dubai. We thank Dubai Sports Council for the honour. We will continue to expand on our offering to achieve even higher scores across all five categories in the coming editions,” added Pillai.
 
Declaring the ranking of KCL, Dubai Sports Council considered various factors including event management, such as the commitment to professionalism in event management, support of the private sector, ticket-sale revenues, standards followed in venue management, use of technology, contribution to tourism, and all-round business development.
 
KCL secured 4.57 out of 5 in use of technology and 2.4 out of 5 in event management. In tourism development too, it secured a score of 9.92 out of 15 while in inspiring volunteering, the event gained 7 points out of 10.

In media coverage secured, KCL clinched 14 out of 20 points highlighting the value it brings to sponsors. It also scored an impressive 8.23 out of 10 in the image development of Dubai.
 
Managed by Seashell Events UAE and under the patronage of Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Cricket Council, KCL expects the event to gain even higher ranking next year with West Indies all-rounder Chris Gayle now coming on board as its ambassador.
 
The current season is ongoing at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai until December 18.
