Phoenix Medicine win Dollar Rent A Car T10 Cup

Phoenix Medicine thrashed Alubond Tigers by seven wickets to win the Dollar Rent A Car T10 Cup at the Dubai Men’s College Fair Ground Oval.

The tournament, sponsored by Dollar Rent A Car and conducted by G Force Sports Services, was held under the auspices of Dubai Cricket Council.

Phoenix dominated the final, thanks to a superb all-round display from Hafiz Kaleem, who went on to score 29 runs after taking three wickets for just six runs.

Alubond were restricted to a meagre 62 for nine in 10 overs.

Nasir Aziz (18) and Sharif Asadullah (14) bailed out the team from a complete rout.

The chase turned out to be an easy one with Kaleem smashing three fours and two sixes for his 29, while Mohammed Qasim was unbeaten on 19, with three hits to the fence.

Nasir Aziz picked up two for 11.

Earlier, in the first semifinal, Phoenix beat Desert King Water Proofing by seven wickets, while Alubond defeated Global Distribution by five wickets in the second one.

Kaleem was instrumental in Phoenix's semifinal victory as well with him picking up two crucial wickets for six runs.

Chasing a target of 79, Phoenix reached it in seven overs. Adnan Mufti was unbeaten on 15 with the help of three fours, while Mohammed Qasim made 13.

Salman Babar was the hero for Desert King as he hammered one four and two sixes to 31 and powered the team to 78 for 9 in 10 overs.

In the second semifinal, Abdul Shakoor's superb batting helped Alubond overpower Global Distribution by five wickets.

Shakoor smashed three fours and one six and remained unbeaten on 32 and guided his team to victory in 9.2 overs. Mubashir took two for 14.

Batting first, Global made 88 for five in 10 overs, thanks to Amjad Gujjar, who hit 33 with the help of two fours and one six. Qasim Butt made 16, including one six.

Nasir Aziz was the pick of the bowlers as he took three for 12, while Zakir Malik bagged one for seven.
