Sharjah Ramadan Cup: Anwar stars as Dubai Hawks notch third win

Dubai Hawks rode on a superb century by UAE star Shaiman Anwar to defeat Alubond Tigers by 11 runs in the 27th Sharjah Ramadan Cup 2016 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The tournament is organised by Sharjah Cricket Council.

This was Dubai Hawk's third consecutive victory.

In another match, Multiplex International thrashed Bukhatir XI by 110 runs.

Anwar's unbeaten 67-ball 129 was studded with 12 boundaries and eight sixes as Dubai Hawks amassed 210 for three in 20 overs.

Chasing an imposing target, Alubond Tigers got off to a bright start as the openers posted 63 runs of in just under five overs.

Shahid Siddique smashed 42 off only 20 deliveries containing six boundaries and two sixes while Rohan Mustafa smashed a 26-ball 45 with the help of four fours and three sixes.

Ghulam Shabbir further brightened the chances of victory as he smashed an identical three fours and sixes to score a 36-ball 52.

Needing 20 runs off the last over, Amjed Javed (1 not out) and Sultan Ahmed (7 not out) could not get the big shots as Alubond Tigers reached 199 for six.
