The UIM-ABP Aquabike Class Pro Circuit World Championship - Grand Prix of Sharjah began in Sharjah in front of hundreds of enthusiastic fans, adding new vibrancy to the excitement of the Sharjah Water Festival.

“SCTDA is delighted to build on its 16 years of experience in hosting the F1H2O Powerboat World Championship by adding the new UIM Aquabike Class Pro which includes participants from across the world,” said Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA).

The first day of the Championship started with free practice sessions in the morning followed by several events, including Ski Ladies GP1, Ski Division GP1, Runabout GP1, and Freestyle events and the Pole Position.

The final day of the event includes the World Championships of the Ski Ladies, Ski Division Freestyle and Runabout.

With over 60 registered aqua bikers the first day of the Championship witnessed a huge presence of the public and drivers. The event provided a fun atmosphere as the new Sharjah World Championship look set to become an annual event in Sharjah’s calendar.
