ADNIC Yas run scheduled for November

Participants to run 10km race three weeks after F1

Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC) along with Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi has announced the much awaited second “ADNIC Yas run.”

The internationally certified 10 km run is scheduled for 24, November 2012 which is three weeks after the 2012 Formula 1TM Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.  The day to night event will see runners following the same route as F1 champions.

Participants will have the option of registering for the 10km run either as individuals or as a team of four, who complete 2.5km each in a team relay to complete the 10km course. The event will also feature a 3km run for children aged between 12 and 15 and a 1km run for children aged between 8 and 11 to allow participants of all ages to take part in this run.

Last year, the run saw 1,500 participants in the adult category who ran 10 km and 800 children competing in the 8km race.

All runners will be issued with timing chips to clock their official race time as there will be category prizes for the individual events, as well as for the first three people to cross the finish line.

Richard Cregan, Chief Executive Officer of Yas Marina Circuit, added: “We are delighted to announce the second ADNIC Yas Run. Last year’s event was a fantastic success seeing thousands of runners achieving their personal goals running around Yas Marina Circuit.  We look forward to attracting even more runners to the ADNIC Yas Run this year, to seeing them training on Tuesday nights at Train Yas and to raising even more money for local charities. It’s a wonderful community event that targets everyone, from adults to children, experienced athletes to first-time runners and brings many friends, families and companies together.”

Emma Phillips, the winner of the last years run was awarded free entry to the 2012 New York race and flights courtesy of Etihad Airway along with receiving the ADNIC Golden Runner Trophy.

Registration is now open for the ADNIC Yas Run 2012. Participants can visit to register or to find out more about the event.
