Always 5K Dubai Women's Run on 11-11-11

The second annual 5K Women’s Run conducted by the UAE Athletics Federation (UAEAF) will be held on November 11 (11-11-11).

It is to be held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.

“Last year there was a record number of over 1,500 entrants and it is expected to double this time,” said Ahmad Al Kamali, IAAF Council member and President of the UAEAF.

“We will also incorporate this year the 10k Run. The Palm Jumeirah is the running route for the 5k and 10K Run. The Palm provides a very unique and beautiful coastline for the Run and it would be a beautiful day for all women,” he added.

With Always feminine hygiene products being the title sponsor, the event is now officially called the ‘Always 5k Dubai Women’s Run’.

“Always wants to help to create positive role models,” Marketing Manager Alshereef Hamidaddin. “We want women and girls to be surrounded by words and pictures championing fit and healthy women. We want to take part in creating a culture where fit and healthy women are celebrated and more women feel inspired to take part.”

Runners from across the Region, Asia and Europe are expected to participate in the event this year and as a benchmark for all other future events of this stature, Always 5k Dubai Women’s Run presents a fantastic opportunity to reach out to masses across the Middle East.
