Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club and Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) have teamed up to support the Al Ain Private Centre for Special Care and Rehabilitation.

Under the patronage of Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club, the family day will showcase a polo exhibition match between ADAC (Abu Dhabi Airport Company) Polo team and ADCB Polo team, both teams consisting of professional Emirati players as well as and high-goal Argentine players.

Sponsors and HCT students contributions will support Al Ain Private Centre for Special Care and Rehabilitation, a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian organisation that provides rehabilitation and care services for children with special needs from all over the GCC. The centre is the largest in the region and is currently building new facilities in order to meet the growing demands from the community.

The Ghantoot HCT Family Polo day will take place on Friday.

Higher Colleges of Technology Vice-Chancellor Dr Tayeb Kamali said it was important for the colleges to get involved with community-focused events, such as the charity polo day.

“The HCT is pleased to be working closely with the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club to present the charity day which will help such a worthy organisation.

“From the outset the HCT has always maintained a strong role in working with local communities and I am sure the day will be well supported by HCT students, faculty, staff and their families.”

The Ghantoot HCT Polo family day is presented by Abu Dhabi Airport Company, the largest operator of airports in the UAE and well known for supporting community initiatives. The event is also supported by ADCB and Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Eng. Ahmad Al Haddabi, Chief Operating Officer at ADAC said: “As a national company and the capital’s airport operator, ADAC realises its affect on its community, and therefore the company places corporate responsibility as one of its key strategic objectives. Through its continuous commitment to key activities and events, ADAC will be supporting leading institutions to reach out effectively to the various segments of our society. This is our second year in a row to support the Ghantoot HCT Polo Day as we see it as an aspiring initiative that hopefully will be enabled to expand further and achieve more in the years to come.”

Dr. Ahmed Al Sayed Suleiman, Director Al Ain Private Centre for Special Care and Rehabilitation said: “We would like to thank Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and congratulate him on this great initiative. We feel blessed for having the support from both Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club and HCT.”

Ahmed Bin Desmal, Ghatoot polo player and HCT student at Abu Dhabi Men’s College said: “I look forward to showing the sport of polo as I know many of my student friends have never experienced the sport. Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club is a very special place so I hope HCT students bring their families and that we together have  a great day out for a good.”
