Tickets for next month’s 10th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) in Dubai are now available at selected Spinneys outlets throughout the UAE.
Tickets for the Championships, which take place at new, state-of-the-art Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Sports Complex from December 15 to 19, can be purchased at six Dubai stores – Mercato Mall, Dubai Marina Mall, Motor City, Mirdiff, the Meadows and World Trade Centre – and in Abu Dhabi on Khalidiya street.
There is also the option to buy on line at www.boxofficeme.com or via the official Championships website, www.dubaiswimming2010.ae.
Championships Director Obaid Al Shamsi said the decision to sell tickets through Spinneys outlets was in keeping with the organisers’ desire to make the event as accessible as possible.
“The staging of the 10th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) is a landmark occasion because it is the first time an event of this size and stature has taken place in the Middle East,” he said.
“Because of that fact we want as many people as possible to get the chance to see the top-class racing that will be on show over five days.
“By selling tickets through selected Spinneys outlets, as well as online through boxofficeme.com and via the Championships website, we are seeking to make buying them as easy and convenient as possible.
“With Souk Lane at the venue offering exhibits, catering and retail with an international theme as well as an Arabian area with crafts, sports, culture, foods and music including falconry exhibitions and henna tattoo artists, the Championships experience has something for everyone.
“Ticket prices start from just Dh10 and that represents a tremendous value-for-money option for individuals or the whole family to see a world-class event at a world-class venue.”
Tickets for heats, which take place during each day of the Championships, cost Dh10 while finals session tickets for each evening start from Dh20.
Premium tickets are also available for Dh150 while a limited number of Gold Package seats priced at Dh450 can be purchased online only.
The tickets from Spinneys are available in the audio-visual section of each participating store.
The Championships are set to welcome more countries and more athletes than any other FINA short course world championships in history, with over 125 Federations and more than 650 athletes expected to take part.
Already confirmed as attending are Australia’s multiple Olympic medallists Geoff Huegill, Leisel Jones and Felicity Galvez. The USA team features 20 Olympians and includes Ryan Lochte, Natalie Coughlin, Aaron Peirsol and Rebecca Soni.
