UAE Wooden Powerboat Championships postponed

The Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) Race Committee on Saturday in conjunction with the powerboat drivers decided overwhelmingly to postpone the UAE Wooden Powerboat Championships.

"The weather conditions are our greatest concern and the forecast is not good," said Mohammed Hareb, Race Officer of the Day in an emailed press release.

"The boats have an open cockpit and the fact that it may rain during the race and reduce visibility is a risk we cannot take. The competitors are in complete agreement and we will reschedule the race." The race will now take place on Saturday 5th February after the Middle East XCat Championships followed by heat 3 on19th February with the final round on 23rd April.
