With the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships starting today, the stadium is not the only place where the action is taking place.

Arriving before the WTA draw held on Saturday, former world number one Ana Ivanovic checked in to Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, the official hotel of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Tournament.

Ivanovic, currently ranked at number 13, has a unique relationship with the city and the tournament itself, serving as a Dubai Duty Free brand ambassador since February 2012.

Chosen as a brand ambassador for her professionalism and personality on and off the court, Ivanovic said, “I am really flattered that Dubai Duty Free asked me to become its brand ambassador. It is a great company that has also been extremely supportive of women’s tennis.”

As part of her ambassador role Ivanovic toured the Jumeirah Creekside hotel for the Finest Surprises Travel Show produced in partnership between Dubai Duty Free and the WTA. Ivanovic was given a tour of the hotel and shown the superb collection of modern Arabic art which is set in the striking contemporary architecture of the hotel.
