'March of the Flag' begins today

'The March of the Flag' Initiative will be launched today with the participation of the Crown Princes of the Emirates, on the occasion of the UAE's 42nd National Day.

The initiative is held under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The initiative aims to boost national identity. The flag will tour the seven emirates, starting from Fujairah and will be carried by every Crown Prince from one emirate to the other, to reach Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai will submit it to General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Sheikh Mohammed will hoist the UAE flag at the water-breaker area in Abu Dhabi on Monday, December 2.

Their Highness Sheikhs and Crown Princes of the Emirates will attend the event.

Iman Al Mansouri, of the initiative, said the procession will move from one emirate to another, simultaneously, noting that a group of sailing boats will sail in the Arabian Gulf carrying the UAE flag.

She added that the initiative shed lights on a true giving story, started by the Founding Fathers of the Union, who hoisted the lag of the Union high.

Al Mansouri went on saying, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates and Crown Princes will once more replicate the step of the founding fathers.
