vivo launches flagship X300 Ultra aimed at content creators and mobile filmmakers

vivo unveiled its new X300 Ultra smartphone, marking the first global launch for the company’s X series, with a strong focus on advanced photography and video capabilities aimed at content creators and users seeking professional-grade mobile imaging.

The device features a ZEISS-branded camera system that includes three lenses with focal lengths of 85mm, 35mm and 14mm, alongside support for zoom accessories reaching the equivalent of 400mm, as smartphone makers continue to push deeper into professional-style photography features.

The X300 Ultra also includes a 200-megapixel telephoto camera equipped with advanced stabilization technology and support for subject tracking at up to 60 frames per second. Its main 35mm camera is paired with a custom sensor designed to improve low-light performance, while the 14mm ultra-wide lens aims to reduce the distortion commonly associated with wide-angle photography.

In image processing, vivo said the phone uses a new color system powered by multi-spectral sensors to analyze ambient lighting and improve color accuracy and shadow detail. The device also offers customizable color profiles inspired by classic camera styles.

For video recording, the smartphone supports 4K capture at 120 frames per second, along with 10-bit Log recording and Dolby Vision technology. It also includes a professional video mode with manual controls and support for 3D LUT files for real-time color preview during filming. A quad-microphone audio system has also been added to improve noise isolation and voice capture.

The handset runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with a dedicated imaging chip, and is powered by a 6,600mAh battery supporting fast charging of up to 100 watts. The device also features a high-brightness 2K display and water and dust resistance ratings.

The launch highlights intensifying competition among smartphone makers in mobile photography, as companies increasingly seek to integrate professional camera technologies into handheld devices amid growing demand for mobile-first content production.
