Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Development has officially opened Tawdheef, the leading recruitment exhibition for UAE Nationals.

Taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) until February 5, Tawdheef features thousands of job opportunities across more than 100 government and private sector organisations.

The three-day event arrives as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, doubles Emiratisation targets for the UAE private sector. Sheikh Mohammed named 2013 as the year of Emiratisation, and now intends to double the target for the number of Emiratis employed in the private sector to provide jobs for the nation’s youth.

Hayete Jemai, Exhibition Director for Tawdheef, said: "Tawdheef is a great chance for companies to meet with potential candidates.  Organisations can conduct on-the-spot interviews to find out if a candidate is the right fit for the company.

"Over the last few years, the UAE Government has played an important role in increasing Emirati employment in the private sector. We’re pleased that exhibitions like Tawdheef can support the Government’s Emiratisation initiatives."

Thousands of UAE Nationals are heading to Tawdheef this year to search for career opportunities in government, finance, healthcare, insurance, retail, tourism and hospitality, energy, industrial, media, recruitment, defence and security, IT, telecoms, transport and logistics.

Hamda Al Shamali, Senior Manager Emiratisation and Local Talent at HSBC, said: "It is very important for an international organisation such as HSBC to take part in local career fairs.  As a bank with deep roots in UAE, the development and creation of job opportunities for UAE Nationals is at the heart of the HSBC’s long-term recruitment strategy.

"HSBC’s presence at Tawdheef is an invitation to the national graduates and job seekers to visit our stand to hear more about the job opportunities we can offer."

Organised by Informa Exhibitions, Tawdheef is sponsored by Titanium sponsor, GHQ Armed Forces, Platinum sponsors, the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (Adib), and Gold sponsors, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Cultural Authority, Adnoc, and the Department of Municipal Affairs, all of which will have current job openings and long-term career opportunities to offer Emiratis.
