As a goodwill gesture, RAK hospital distributed thousands of Iftar packages amongst the RAK taxi drivers.

The meals were handed out between 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the hospital premises.

Queues of taxis snaked around RAK Hospital to collect the Iftar packets; the initiative aims to thank the unsung heroes who tirelessly work around the clock to transport the passengers and patients. Their contribution to the society is unimaginable and mostly neglected; it is to this true and undying spirit of cab drivers that the Rak Hospital recognizes through this programme.

“Cab drivers are important members of our society, however their efforts are mostly never appreciated, they work round the clock even in extreme weather conditions to transport people and we felt it was crucial to recognize their efforts and contribution. We wanted to thank them in our own small way for their hard work and valuable services. This is our first “Iftaar for Cabbies” event but we aim to turn this into an annual feature, perhaps extending it to other members of the society in our future editions”, said Raza Siddiqui, Executive Director – RAK Hospital and CEO Arabian Healthcare Group.

“At RAK Hospital our philosophy is personalized care and wellness for all and it is this culture that we want to inculcate. As part of our Ramadan programme, we are also providing free nutritionist consultation for fasters. Through this and other such community engagements we want to connect with our society in a more meaningful way,” added Siddiqui.
