Dubai: If you are in the process of becoming a UAE resident, you’re likely looking for a convenient location where you can complete your biometric scan process.
Biometric collection is an integral part of the visa application process for new residents, as it is a precursor to receive your Emirates ID. All applicants over the age of 15 are required to provide their biometric data, which includes iris and fingerprint scans. These biometric markers create a unique digital identity that is secure.
How to book a biometric appointment
To submit your biometric data, you will need to visit a Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) Customer Happiness Centre. If you are located in Dubai, you also have the option of visiting Amer Centres or authorised medical centres across the city.
Before heading there, however, you are required to book an appointment, as these centres rarely accommodate walk-ins. Here are the steps for booking an appointment at an ICP Customer Happiness Centre through the ICP’s official portal:
- Visit icp.gov.ae and log in with your UAE PASS.
- From the dashboard, open your Emirates ID application, which is in process, or refer to a copy if you have it printed out. You will need your personal registration acknowledgment number (PRAN) or the application reference number located at the top of the document.
- Select ‘Book Biometric Appointment’ and enter your PRAN.
- Choose your emirate, then your preferred Customer Happiness Centre. The portal shows you slots available in real time.
- Pick a date and time, confirm, and download the appointment details. This document is required on the day of your appointment.
