What is Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation?
The Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation, founded in 1971, is the UAE’s first cultural and arts centre dedicated to the creation and appreciation of art and literature.
The Foundation offers a cutting-edge visual art programme of exhibitions, workshops and events. Within its doors, you’ll find spaces dedicated to community exhibitions for artists, curators and collectives of the UAE, along with a renovated 900-seat theatre. The Foundation features a highly coveted annual art residency programme that attracts artists from all over the UAE, and it is also home to the Abu Dhabi Children’s Library – a 5,250 square-metre facility designed as a gigantic pop-up book.
What is the ‘The UAE is Beautiful’ exhibition?
The Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation has announced a photography exhibition that showcases the best of the UAE, seen through the eye of the beholder – you.
The community collaboration, in partnership with Emirates Post, is part of a new 'The UAE is Beautiful' photography exhibition opening on May 14 at the Cultural Foundation.
Featuring Emirati lead artist Khalid Al Hammadi, the group exhibition brings together works by UAE-based photographers, inspired by the words of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan: “The UAE is beautiful; the UAE is a role model.” Through each lens, the exhibition captures the country’s richness, diversity, and the human stories that shape its identity.
Selected submissions will be displayed on the Foundation’s Community Engagement Wall as part of the exhibition, forming a collective portrait of the UAE through the community’s photography. Everyone, regardless of their photography experience, is welcome to participate. No submission deadline has been announced, so far.
How do I participate in the exhibition?
Follow these simple steps to participate:
- Click or choose a photograph that reflects the beauty of the UAE.
- Print it, as a standard or Polaroid-style print.
- Drop it into the Emirates Post mailbox at the Cultural Foundation.
Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation is located opposite Qasr Al Hosn, between Zayed the First Street, Khaled bin Waleed Street, Hamdan bin Mohammed Street (5th Street) and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed St (2nd Street), in Abu Dhabi.
