Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) have inaugurated the first phase of their partnership to establish a major charge point hub dedicated exclusively to DTC's electric taxi fleet.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, and Abdul Muhsen Ibrahim Kalbat, Chairman of the DTC Group's Board of Directors, inaugurated the facility at DTC's headquarters in Muhaisnah 4.
The hub features 24 next-generation ultra-fast charging points, each with a capacity of 360 kilowatts.
The initiative forms part of a long-term strategic agreement signed by DEWA and DTC during WETEX 2025 to deploy more than 200 ultra-fast EV charging points for DTC's fleet, supporting the expansion of Dubai's green mobility infrastructure.
The newly operational hub can charge 24 vehicles simultaneously in approximately 35 minutes, helping reduce downtime and support more efficient zero-emission transport services across the emirate.
"We are committed to strengthening our strategic partnerships to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable and efficient transportation system, supporting Dubai's vision to be the best city in the world to live, work and visit, and the most future-ready city," said Al Tayer.
He added that the initiative aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 by expanding charging infrastructure, reducing emissions and supporting the growing adoption of electric vehicles.
Al Tayer also praised Dubai Taxi Company's efforts to expand its electric vehicle fleet, noting that the partnership contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of the transport sector and supports the development of charging infrastructure in line with international standards.
Abdul Muhsen Ibrahim Kalbat said the partnership is an important step in advancing DTC's sustainability agenda and supporting Dubai's vision for a smart and green future.
"This collaboration reflects our shared ambition to build the infrastructure needed to support Dubai's vision for a smart and green future while creating long-term value for our community, stakeholders and the wider mobility ecosystem," he said.
Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, Group CEO of DTC, said the project marks a significant milestone in the company's fleet electrification journey.
"This new ultra-fast charging hub is the first phase of a larger network of more than 200 EV charging stations dedicated entirely to DTC's fleet," he said.
"As this network grows, so will our capacity to enhance fleet efficiency, maximise vehicle availability, and meet growing customer demand with reliable, zero-emission transport services."
The project supports Dubai's broader sustainability goals and reflects ongoing efforts to accelerate the adoption of clean transport solutions across the emirate.
