Dubai: An electric scooter patrol from Dubai Police’s Naif Police Station arrested three suspects accused of stealing AED 190,000, recovering the full amount within just four minutes of the report being received.

The rapid response began when the Command-and-Control Centre at the General Department of Operations received a theft report within the jurisdiction of Naif Police Station.

Descriptions of the suspects were immediately circulated to patrols in the area. An electric scooter patrol reached the vicinity of the incident within two minutes, quickly deployed across the area and arrested all three suspects within another two minutes. The stolen AED 190,000 was found in their possession.

Four minute response

Expert Brigadier Omar Mousa Ashour, Director of Naif Police Station, said the swift arrests and recovery of the stolen money demonstrate the readiness of Dubai Police field teams and the efficiency of the response system.

He explained that Naif Police Station places significant emphasis on monitoring patrol performance and managing their deployment to ensure reports are handled quickly and maintain a strong security presence across busy areas and high-density markets.

e-scooter patrols built for busy areas

Expert Brigadier Ashour said the electric scooter patrol project provides an effective field solution that helps officers reach incidents quickly, particularly in areas characterised by heavy pedestrian and vehicle movement.

The e-scooter patrols also give officers greater mobility through markets and narrow alleys, where conventional patrol vehicles may face greater difficulty moving rapidly. He stressed that Naif Police Station will continue supporting and developing its field operations to further improve response times and enhance security efficiency.
