Dubai: The General Department of Airport Security at Dubai Police restored relief to an Arab traveller after locating her and returning a bag she had lost at Airport Terminal 1, containing all her valuable belongings.
The Director of Airport Terminal 1 Security Department, Colonel Abdullah Faisal Al-Dosari, explained that an employee found a black bag in an open area. Upon checking its contents, it was discovered to contain $20,000, 150 grams of gold, additional sums in other currencies, mobile phones of different brands, and personal documents. He noted that the documents revealed the identity of the bag’s owner, but locating and contacting her required forming a team to trace her route, as no report of a lost item matching this description had been received.
Colonel Al-Dosari added: “The operations room was notified, and the necessary procedures were taken to locate the owner and establish contact with her. It was found that she was about to leave the country for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She was extremely worried about losing the bag and uncertain about how to proceed, fearing she might miss her flight.”
Dubai Police returned the bag to the traveller after completing the necessary legal procedures and verifying that she had all required permits and documents. The traveller expressed her happiness and gratitude for the efforts of Dubai Police and their commitment to returning lost belongings and supporting travellers.
