Dubai: Dubai Police have launched a series of school visits across the emirate as part of the School Security initiative, engaging directly with students at the start of the 2026-2027 academic year.
Directors of Dubai Police stations and their deputies visited a number of schools serving Arab and international communities, providing students with an opportunity to interact with police officers and learn more about safety, responsibility and the role of law enforcement in the community.
The visits focused on building trust and strengthening communication between students and police officers through direct engagement rather than traditional awareness campaigns alone.
Discussing issues that matter to students
During interactive awareness sessions, officers spoke to students about school safety, positive behaviour and how to respond appropriately to situations they may encounter both inside and outside school.
Students were encouraged to ask questions and engage directly with officers, helping them gain a better understanding of the role Dubai Police play in maintaining safe educational environments and protecting the wider community.
The visits form part of the Back to School initiative supervised by the School Security Team, which aims to strengthen cooperation between Dubai Police and educational institutions while enhancing security and traffic awareness among students.
Building trust through direct engagement
Dubai Police station directors said engaging directly with students from different communities helps foster stronger relationships between young people and the police.
Teaching staff and students welcomed the initiative, noting that interacting directly with officers helps strengthen trust, improve communication and raise awareness of safe and responsible behaviour.
Safety beyond the classroom
Dubai Police stressed the importance of continued cooperation with the Ministry of Education and educational institutions on issues affecting students, including security, social, cultural and health matters.
As part of the initiative, police stations are visiting schools within their respective jurisdictions to deliver awareness messages and support broader community engagement efforts.
Station directors also congratulated teaching, administrative and technical staff, as well as parents, on the start of the new academic year, praising schools for their role in preparing future generations.
They encouraged students to work hard, pursue their goals and set a positive example for their peers.
Safer journeys to and from school
Dubai Police also reminded students and parents to remain vigilant when boarding and leaving school buses and urged motorists to comply with traffic regulations and exercise extra caution near schools.
The force said additional awareness sessions will be held for students and school staff across Dubai, while police patrols will be intensified during school arrival and dismissal times to help manage traffic and support safer journeys to and from school.
