Dubai: Dubai Police’s Tourist Police Department received 1,839 enquiries and assist requests from tourists representing 118 nationalities during the first half of this year through its five dedicated electronic communication channels.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Abdulrahman, Director of the Tourist Police Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, said Dubai Police remains committed to strengthening communication with visitors through smart and digital platforms, in line with the Dubai Government’s vision of making Dubai the world’s best city to live, work, visit and invest in.
He added that, under the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the Tourist Police Department continuously engages with visitors from around the world to listen to their enquiries and suggestions while providing services that contribute to an exceptional tourism experience in Dubai.
Five communication channels
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed explained that one of the key communication channels is the Tourist Support service available through the latest version of the Dubai Police smart app on iOS, Android and Huawei devices. The service enables tourists anywhere in the world to submit enquiries, observations and reports quickly and easily.
He added that the second channel is the Dubai Police website, while the third consists of Smart Police Stations (SPS) located across Dubai, where tourists can submit enquiries, suggestions and reports around the clock through fully automated services without human intervention.
The fourth communication channel is the non-emergency Call Centre 901, which handles enquiries and observations from tourists, while the fifth is the Dubai Tourist Police email: TouristPolice@dubaipolice.gov.ae , allowing visitors from anywhere in the world to communicate directly with the force.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad concluded that the enquiries and feedback received through these channels have helped guide tourists, deliver police and security services, assist visitors in recovering lost belongings, and help reunite them with their residences in their home countries, contributing to higher levels of visitor satisfaction.
