Dubai: The Tourist Police Department at Dubai Police's General Department of Criminal Investigation surprised an Arab tourist just hours after she left the country for her home country. They informed her that the AED 3,000 she had lost in a shopping centre had been found and transferred to her via a bank transfer.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Abdul Rahman, Director of the Tourist Police Department, confirmed that the tourist had filed a report through the tourist support service on the Dubai Police app, stating that she had lost AED 3,000 in a shopping centre and could not return to it due to her departure schedule.

Lt. Col. Abdul Rahman noted that Dubai Police reassured her that they would follow up on the report immediately and that the money would be sent to her home country if found. He added that a field team was formed by the Shopping Centres Security Section of the Tourist Police Department, which tracked the tourist's movements within the shopping centre.

Found within two hours

He added that the team managed to find the full amount within two hours at one of the stores in the shopping centre. They verified its value and the number of notes in accordance with the report filed by the tourist, then contacted her and transferred the money to her.

Tourist: I didn't expect that

The tourist, who was surprised by the speed of the response and the swift communication with her even in her home country, expressed her happiness at recovering the money. She noted that she had not expected to find her money, especially in a busy shopping centre, praising the level of safety and integrity in Dubai.
